Crossing The Divide

The biggest challenge most organizations in our region seem to face when starting to built their major donor fundraising programs is spanning the gap between leaders in the philanthropic sector and leaders in the commercial world. For over two years, Jiří Bárta and Jan Kroupa have been working on a EUR 1 million major donor endowment campaign and succeeded in building one of the first cabinet-driven campaigns in the region. This session has been designed to share all the experiences and learnings from engaging people of influence and affluence in leadership roles in resource mobilization.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will learn:

  • How to organize a major donor campaign,
  • How to integrate campaign-based major donor fundraising with annual fundraising operations,
  • How to engage people of influence and affluence as high-level volunteers in fundraising,

  • What the difference between staff-driven and cabinet-driven campaigns is.
