Many NGO-company collaborations begin as sponsorships or one-off campaigns, but few are intentionally designed to create lasting value for both the organisation and the cause it serves. This session explores how NGOs can move beyond transactional support and build stronger corporate partnerships based on shared purpose, clear expectations, trust and meaningful impact. Drawing on both practice and research, it will examine the differences between sponsorship and strategic partnership, common design mistakes and the key elements that make collaboration more sustainable, balanced and effective. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to shape corporate partnerships that support not only specific activities but also long-term organisational resilience and social impact.
